Steps to Adopt

Pray. This is the most important step!

Send an inquiry to the above link for information on how to apply.

Once you have an approved application you will then be sent complete dossier instructions and our cooperating agency will assist you throughout the process.

The agency will help you in selecting a child once your homestudy has been reviewed and approved.

Once you have chosen your child/children and your dossier is ready, you will send your dossier to Haiti.

Continue to pray through the wait, and then praise the Lord when your child comes home! You will be updated monthly, or more, on your child's development by your adoption case worker. As your dossier progresses through the various stages in Haiti, you will be updated as well.

Adoption Fees

Questions about fees, payments, scholarships, etc., can be directed to your adoption agency case worker.

Timeframe

Most families find they can complete their dossier in 2 to 4 months depending on where you live. Once your dossier is in Haiti you can expect your child to be home in 1 to 2 years.

Travel

Travel to Haiti is not required but is highly encouraged. If you choose not to travel to Haiti to pick up your child, an escort can often be arranged. You will be responsible for all of the escort's travel expenses.

What to Expect

Adoptions in general are a time for great growth. Many adoptive parents reflect on the adoption process as a time of joy, and excitement, and also one of anxiousness and anticipation. It is hard to wait patiently when your child is so far from home. One thing we have learned is that all things are done in God's perfect timing. God will use any anxiousness you may experience for good as you learn to lean on Him and wait on His will. Most parents will complete the process with a deeper relationship with our Saviour. The blessing of a beautiful child in your arms is a sweet conclusion to a time of growth as you draw nearer to the Lord.

The adoption process in Haiti requires a lot of flexibility. Occasionally the Haitian government will restructure the adoption process. This is beyond our control. We will adjust our steps in the process accordingly and continue.

The orphanage in Haiti, through the partership with cooperative agencies, accepts applications from heterosexual, Christian couples and singles.
