The USCIS has indicated that they will have an outlined process for the completion of the adoption process within the next 60 days. Please do not attempt to begin the adoption process prior to this. If you do you are likely to complicate your overall process and likely increase your costs. The best route forward is to work with USCIS when they give clear direction. In the mean time, invest your time and energy into your children and helping them adjust.

With the destruction wrought by the January 12th earthquake in Haiti, there is certainly a need to find home for more children. However, this disaster basically destroyed the current governmental system in Haiti; it will take time for the government to re-form and to determine how to address adoptions going forward. We are not certain if the laws will change or stay the same. Additionally, the children now being brought to Maison des Enfants de Dieu are not clearly orphans as the certainty of the loss of their parents/family is not fully determined. They are primarily "Displaced" children that they will care for with your support until family can be found or their orphan status clarified.

Please continue to pray with us for the children of Haiti, many are in desperate need and we will do all we can to assist them. Please keep coming back to this page as we hope in the next few months to have a clearer picture of how adoptions will proceed and will update you with that information.
